It is usually hereditary.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Type 2 Diabetes is more common than Type 1 Diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a life-long disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood. Type 2 Diabetes is, with lots of work, reversible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Type 2 diabetes may account for about 90% to 95% of all diagnosed cases of diabetes. Up to two-thirds of people with type 2 diabetes have no symptoms.\u00a0<strong>Obesity<\/strong>\u00a0is the single most important risk factor for type 2 diabetes. An estimated 20% of all cases of new-onset type 2 diabetes are in individuals between the ages of 9-19.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3147 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/pregnant_1598904261.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/pregnant_1598904261-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/pregnant_1598904261-scaled.jpg?w=2400&amp;ssl=1 2400w\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Gestational Diabetes\u00a0<\/strong>Gestational diabetes is a problem of elevated blood sugar that only happens when a woman is pregnant.\u00a0 It develops at around 24 weeks gestation and occurs in between 2-10 percent of pregnant women.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Because it is one of the more common disorders of pregnancy, it is one that every pregnant woman should be screened for.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What happens in pregnancy with blood sugar?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Normally, your body breaks down your food into a simple sugar called glucose.\u00a0 The glucose goes into your bloodstream and this triggers insulin, a hormone made by the pancreas, to be released.\u00a0 Insulin helps put glucose into the cells of the body to be used in metabolism and gathering energy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">In gestational diabetes, there are hormonal changes that happen in pregnancy that make the cells less responsive to the effects of insulin. The insulin level goes up in pregnancy to compensate for the less responsive cells but some women cannot keep up with the insulin needed to put the glucose in the cells and the glucose or \u201cblood sugar\u201d level goes up.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_2505\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2505\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2505\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810.jpg?resize=300%2C200&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?resize=1024%2C683&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?resize=1536%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?resize=2048%2C1365&amp;ssl=1 2048w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.marieparkeronline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/childhood_obesity_1577561810-scaled.jpg?w=2400&amp;ssl=1 2400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-2505\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/unsplash.com\/photos\/EnN_RbuBYZM\">bady<\/a> \/ Unsplash<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Fortunately, the vast majority of women resolve their gestational diabetes after the pregnancy is over with but the medical recommendations are that if you have gestational diabetes, you should be checked every three years after the baby is born because half of all women will get regular diabetes at some point in their later lives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The more you know about diabetes, the more you&#8217;ll be able to take the right steps to take control of your condition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">If neglected, diabetes can lead to various complications such as damage to the kidneys, heart disease, nerve damage, hypoglycemia (drastic reduction in glucose levels) or hyperglycemia (drastic increase in glucose levels).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Prediabetes<\/strong>\u00a0Those who test with a range of 5.7% to 6.4% Hemoglobin A1C are considered to have prediabetes, any reading between 6.0% and 6.4% is considered at especially high risk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This is a threshold area and is an alert that there is a very high risk of type 2 diabetes onset in the future. Type 1 patients&#8217; bodies just do not make insulin. There is no cure or reversal but you can live with it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\">Type 2 diabetes &amp; pre-diabetes are reversible with hard work.\u00a0 Naturally, it will be easier if you are prediabetic. Either way, change, reinvention is necessary. Your mind, body &amp; soul must work hard and together to reverse diabetes, but it is possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\">I believe that your mindset helps determines your success, or not.\u00a0 With the proper mindset, self-confidence and desire to change, you can do what you have to do to reverse type 2 diabetes &amp; pre-diabetes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 24pt; color: #333333;\">Things That Can Help You<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Change your diet:<\/strong> <\/span><\/em>\u00a0Ask you, doctor, what your ideal weight is and change your eating so that you achieve that weight. Losing weight is critical if you are diabetic. Don&#8217;t forget, you don&#8217;t need a diet, you need a complete lifestyle change in the way that you eat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #ff0000;\">Learn to relax:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 \u00a0Diabetes will put stress on your life. Learn what stress is and how you can relieve it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt; color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>Learn to Meditate:<\/strong><\/em><\/span>\u00a0 Learn to meditate so that you can face the daily hurdles in life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong>Exercise:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span> Yoga comes in many forms. I am sure that with a little research, you will find an exercise regiment that suits you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Find a habit:<\/span><\/em><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Find something that you can immerse yourself into when you feel the need.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Diabetes?
